Our Mission: is to provide or obtain services for people with developmental disabilities an their families in Western New York which will: Assist in achieving their highest level of independent living; Enable their fullest participation in society; Ensure that their civil and human rights are protected; and Promote their ability to be productive, contributing members of the community.

Senior Services Program

Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled is committed to serving developmentally disabled senior citizens and their families. As people with developmental disabilities grow older, they and their families are faced with unique circumstances and choices. Who will provide support and care when elderly parents are no longer able to do so? The answer to this question is as different as each individual or family situation. The trained staff of the Senior Services Program can assist developmentally disabled seniors, their parents, and other family members to understand their options and to find the solutions and answers which are right for them.

Service Coordination

A Service Coordinator, knowledgeable about senior citizens, health care, and developmental disabilities, will meet with developmentally disabled seniors and family to explain the various opportunities available. Families may choose from day programs, respite services, financial planning, health care services, residential services, involvement in a senior citizen center, future life planning and many other options.

Community Living Skills

Some developmentally disabled seniors may be interested in our Community Living groups. A variety of activities like shopping groups, community outings, and other programs offered on a regular basis. Through these groups, they learn to handle money, improve social skills, make friends, and have fun at the same time.
