Students Eligible to Participate:
The program is open to all P.S.#30 students in grades
3-6.
Transportation: Late bus - Monday through Friday only.

ACADEMICS/SOCIAL / RECREATION
The Frank A. Sedita (School #30) after-school
program is a collaborative effort between New
Directions; United Way's “Closing the Gap”
Program, the Buffalo Public Schools, and
Northwest Buffalo Community Centers.
The After-school Program includes tutoring,
positive recreational activities, social
programming, life skills instruction, and anti-gang
education. Children in grades 3 through 6 are
referred to the program based upon academic
performance, classroom behavior and evidence of
risk of SED (serious emotional disturbance).
Of the 100 students enrolled in the after-school
program 10 students are enrolled in Care
Coordination /Wraparound services through New
Directions. The Care Coordinator who works with
the students and their families is located in an
office within School #30. She is available to meet
with families in their homes at times that are
convenient for them. The students who are
selected for Care Coordination are students who
present at risk for out of home placement. The
Care Coordinator works with them and their whole
family to identify family strengths and needs and
to help the family work on achieving their goals by
linking them with appropriate services, promoting
self-sufficiency, and ultimately helping their child
succeed at school, home, and in the community.
